If youre a scrapbooking fan, youve no doubt collected a large pile of scrapbooking supplies that you want to work with. Even if you dont have a lot of supplies, there are probably some that you want to get a hold of and use in as many ways possible. Using your scrapbooking supplies for holiday cards, wrapping and decorations is one way to get extra miles out of your scrapbooking supplies. The following projects are easy ways to use the supplies that you love to make your holidays a little cheerier.
Small gifts are easy to wrap with your favorite scrapbooking paper. Pick a patterned piece of paper and then use strips of solid cardstock as ribbon along the sides to form a cross shape. On the top of the box, place a circle journaling dot, some ribbon and sparkles to complete your package.
For large packages, purchase some plain white paper or use the inside of a paper grocery bag. Use your stamps to create a pattern all over the wrapping paper and then add paper embellishments on top after you wrap the gift. You can add scrapbooking ribbon, flowers or metal accents for a more polished look.
Holiday cards-
Card-making and scrapbooking often go hand in hand. If youve never made cards with your scrapbooking supplies, its actually very easy to get started. You can create a template from an old card or purchase pre-folded cards. Decorate your cards with paper embellishments and other scrapbooking accents. Make things easy on yourself by designing a simple card and then working from that example when you create the rest of your cards. Be sure to make your cards in a size that will fit a standard envelope. If youre using a lot of embellishments, get the cards weighed before you mail them off.
Gift tags
These are easily made with journaling tags and your paper embellishment supplies. Choose a medium to large sized tags and order a few dozen from your favorite scrapbook shop. When you make tags, youll want to make enough for this year and maybe the next. It makes sense to make lots at once. Just like you did with the cards, make sure to create a sample and work out all the kinks so you know exactly what youll need for the rest of your tags. Punch a hole in the end of the tag once youre done and attach it to your present with some ribbon or thread.
Custom frames
Dress up a plain picture frame by popping out the mat and decorating it with scrapbooking supplies. You can cover the whole mat with buttons or just add a few flowers in one of the corners.
Wooden boxes
These boxes are available at craft stores and are easy to customize with scrapbooking supplies. You can make them into jewelry boxes, small toy boxes for children or even key holders for busy families! Use some acid free glue to securely attach your pieces to the sides of the boxes.
